Elias Baboun
English, Arabic
Palestinian Christian leader from Bethlehem
A Christian Palestinian from Bethlehem, Elias Baboun is a moderate Palestinian leader advancing a distinctive peace initiative — a comprehensive and innovative framework based on religious, social, and political cooperation among the peoples of the region. The plan introduces innovative ideas such as regional governance, Jewish prayer rights on the Temple Mount, and a Middle Eastern parliament. Baboun developed it after dialogue with all parties, from Israelis to Hamas leaders.
In his lecture he offers an in-depth look at Palestinian society and the potential of interfaith dialogue. Elias Baboun is a co-author of the book “Uniting the Believers” with Tom Wegner.
