Tom Wegner heads the public relations firm “Wegner – Strategy and Communications,” which specializes in public campaigns, and leads the “Middle East Center,” which conducts direct dialogue activities among the peoples of the Middle East and promotes the creation of a shared Abrahamic consciousness.

Wegner previously served in roles including spokesperson for Prime Minister Ehud Barak, media adviser to Defense Minister Amir Peretz, and spokesperson for the Peres Center for Peace (headed by Shimon Peres). As a communications consultant, Wegner has worked with a long list of coexistence initiatives and international organisations promoting Israeli–Arab dialogue, including the European Union, the World Bank and others. During his military service in the IDF, Wegner was responsible for coordination and liaison between the IDF and the Palestinian Police in the Jericho district.

Over the years, Wegner has built a unique network of contacts and partnerships with politicians, intellectuals and journalists across the Muslim world. In early 2025 he was among the founders of “the Abrahamic Movement,” a platform for Zoom meetings and direct dialogue on social media among the peoples of the Middle East, and for developing a shared Abrahamic consciousness.

As director of the “Middle East Center,” he leads a long list of dialogue initiatives – from hosting lecturers from the Muslim world for Israeli audiences on YouTube, through meetings between rabbis and imams and business collaborations, to WhatsApp and Facebook groups for grassroots dialogue.

Wegner is an award-winning author. His first book, “The Cannabis Wars,” became a bestseller and won the World Book Award (for its English edition). His second book, “The Abrahamic Revolution,” outlines a new formula for peace in the Middle East, written in collaboration with leaders and intellectuals from across the region, and was published in Hebrew, English and Arabic. His third book, “The Union of Believers,” was written as the first Israeli–Palestinian book, together with Palestinian author Elias Nasri Baboun; it deals with interfaith bridge-building and was published in Hebrew. Wegner is currently writing his fourth book, “The Cyrus Accords,” together with Iranian author Arash Hamdian.
